Builder CMS MCP for Claude

Hi Team,

I want to connect the Builder CMS MCP with Claude so that we can publish content directly to Builder CMS via Claude. Please let me know if this is possible using the Builder CMS MCP.

We are currently on the Builder CMS Free plan, and I would like to upgrade in order to use the MCP feature. However, I couldn’t find the MCP feature listed under the Pro plan.

  • Could you please clarify if it’s available on the Pro plan or only for the Enterprise plan?
  • What are the various functionality does the Builder MCP provides,

Hi @abhi18,

Yes, the Builder CMS MCP can be connected to Claude, including Claude Desktop, and can be used to interact with content in your Builder Space. The CMS MCP uses the standard MCP protocol and OAuth authentication, so Claude can connect directly to the Builder CMS MCP server.

For Claude Desktop, you can configure the Builder CMS MCP endpoint:

https://mcp.builder.io/mcp/publish

Once connected and authenticated, you can use prompts in Claude to work with your Builder content.

The Builder CMS MCP currently supports a broad set of CMS operations, including:

  • Retrieve and query Builder content

  • Browse content within a model

  • Search published and draft content

  • List available content models

  • View model schemas

  • View page hierarchy

  • Search Builder assets

  • Create new content entries

  • Update existing content

  • Configure content targeting and scheduling

  • Create and update content models

  • Retrieve design tokens and registered components

  • Retrieve available templates

  • Create reusable Symbols

For example, you can ask Claude to create a new content entry, update an existing page, search for content, or create content as a draft or publish it when appropriate. The documentation recommends being explicit about whether newly created content should be published immediately.

Regarding the plan question, the current Builder CMS MCP documentation does not specify whether access is included in the Pro plan or restricted to Enterprise. Since you’re currently on the Free plan and don’t see MCP listed under Pro, I would recommend confirming the current plan availability with the Builder team before upgrading.
