Hopefully a simple problem, but I don’t see my pages go live after publishing. There is often a significant delay between publishing a page and that page being visible in my browser. This could be quite a few hours. I expect the time between publish and live to be almost instantaneous.

We are using a node service that first looks for an in-code page, and if it isn’t there then goes to builder. What I am wondering is if this is ‘normal’ for builder or if I need to investigate my stack in detail for the issue.

Hi @Richard_at_the_pools, yes publishes should be almost instantaneous within seconds. A few minutes sounds reasonable but hours is quite long. If it’s not something in your codebase it could be worth checking if it’s being heavily cached with your hosting provider. You also can try playing around with our caching options [here](https://www.builder.io/c/docs/query-api#:~:text=%26includeRefs%3Dtrue-,cacheSeconds,-No) and may find the following link useful:

> When publishing your pages, the changes might not be immediate due to caching. Caching helps us ensure the best possible performance while keeping content reasonably fresh. We use a technique called [stale-while-revalidating caching](https://web.dev/stale-while-revalidate/) which updates the data based on how frequently data is requested. For example, if you update the content, but no one visits your site, your content may not update right away. The next time a user visits the site, they’ll see the cached version, while the latest versio…
