# How can I control the summary field of a closed list item?

I have an input which is a list of objects, and when an item is closed the summary is automatically taken from the first string input. In the attached screenshot, for instance, it’s the text `primary -`.

How can I define which field in the object to use for this?

Hey @JonathanLand you can set a default value in the options when adding a new field.

Hey @sheema, unfortunately that doesn’t answer my question. My question is not about the default but about what appears after the content was modified.

I apologize. I misunderstood your question. I can see you are talking about content input. But I am little confused about what you want to be visible. Could you please share a loom recording of the issue? It looks like it might be a feature request.

I’m not sure how Builder chooses the field to use in the summary, the question is how to control it. In the above example the Tooltip field is being used, but I want the Label field to be used. Thanks.
