Plugin Classic Export Figma Not Working

Hi team,

I’m trying to use Classic Export on Figma plugin but it’s not working properly.

It loads to generate code and then nothing happens, it just goes back to the beginning where user needs to click the blue button ‘classic export’.

Everything is on auto layout, no components. I don’t know what’s happening. Can someone help please?

Please help, it’s not working for days. No error message, nothing. I already deleted and re-installed the plugin, already cleared cache for Figma also and nothing.

Hello @airn3 ,

We investigated this on our end but could not reproduce the issue—both Classic and Smart export appear to be working as expected.

Could you clarify whether you are trying to export all the layers or the entire frame content at once? If so, could you please try selecting a single layer and check if you are able to export successfully?

This will help us narrow down the issue further.

Thank you,

Hi,

Single layers work and frames too. However, frames only work up to a certain number of layers.
Example: if I try to export a frame with 5 layers inside, it works. However, when I try to export a frame with 40 layers inside it doesn’t.

I reduced the frame px until I stopped seeing the yellow warning about the size and it still didn’t work.

Does the plugin have limitations with number of layers within a frame?

I tested in a lot of ways and the only way it the error happens that it goes back to the beginning of the flow where the user needs to click the blue button to export, is when I try to export a frame that has multiple layers inside. Now I tried 35 layers within a frame and also didn’t work.

Hello @airn3

Yes, there are some limitations with Classic export when Figma frames are too large. In addition, Classic export currently doesn’t support exporting multiple frames at once.

However, you can use Fusion, which does support selecting multiple Figma frames and turning them into a working multi-step flow inside your existing codebase. Fusion will attempt to infer how the flows should connect based on the selected frames and the app context. That said, providing some prompt context when dropping in the Figma export makes the results much more accurate.

I’d encourage testing this directly through the Figma plugin, as the workflow and benefits become much clearer in practice.

This would be to work on Lovable therefore Fusion would be a massive workaround
