We have a headless shopify site that I’m looking at builder to integrate with. I tried adding the https://www.npmjs.com/package/@builder.io/plugin-shopify plugin, and set the API keys. It only loads a partial list of products to choose from when I create a product field. I’m also not seeing the UI components referred to in the readme. Do you have a reference site for how to connect a page to a collection? How can I create a component that is configurable (let marketing choose what collection of products they want in a landing page as an example? More examples would be helpful. I’ll keep digging in the meantime. Thanks. Fortunately we’re starting out with a blog, so as soon as I have a design, I can set up a page, and then create a template for marketing to work with… But I’d like to be sure that we can use builder easily when it comes time to start creating new landing pages as well.
Glad you found Builder and are exploring using our Shopify plugin
Hopefully these notes answer your questions:
-
The product list in the plugin does not load all products at once. In order to find the product you want, you will need to use the search and make sure to type in the exact full product title. The Shopify API we are currently using does not allow for fuzzy search, but we are always looking to improve Builder, so if you have feedback please send it our way! As far as the collection and product UI components mentioned in the readme not loading in Builder, we will look into that.

Have you used this builder eventually? If so, can you share examples of how the guys have done the job? I’ve checked the information page but still trust solely to real user experience. Even if you refused them, what service did you choose? I might sound inquisitive, it’s just because all the stuff related to my Shopify store I delegate to third-party services. All my website development was done by these guys Shopify Website Development | Shopify Custom Development. Now I seek the Shopify plugin for my personal tweaks. Yours seems to be the one I need.
I find it interesting too
Your Shopify plugin seems neat. In fact, there are many similar plugins on the web, but a lot of them are either paid or poor-made. The only questionable thing is how it looks with the rest user interface elements. Probably, such plugins are better to use after consultation with e-commerce development specialists, such as https://transformagency.com/. If it increases a site’s load time, I don’t see a reason to use it. Google will just sink down your site in searching ranking. Nevertheless, I will give the plugin a try after its release.
