I’m dipping my toe in the waters for how Builder handles A/B testing, and am slightly confused by the page duplication part of it.
If I duplicate a live page in order to create an A/B test, can I safely archive (even delete) the original page?
And if I decide to archive and/or delete the duplicate page running the A/B test to revert to the original page, any danger in doing so?
I know either scenario would likely impact reporting. Just wanting to understand, that aside, if there’s any harm in archiving former page versions so there isn’t as much visual clutter in the CMS, or confusion among team members about which page is the “live” page.
The long and short of it is, Builder will serve the first entry that matches the targeting (aka the one highest up the content list). Therefor, whatever version of your page is highest up the list and published, that will be served. No entries with the same targeting that are further down the page will be served. So, if you want to archive content that is lower down the hierarchy list, its totally safe as long as you have a published version that you want to be served. Same goes for archiving a content entry that is higher up the list; as long as you have a published version below it, the first published version will be served.
