Hi!
To have several crops of a given image, does the user have to prepare it each time in an external application (eg. Adobe Photoshop) and upload the crop to the Asset Library to be able to place it in the component, or is it possible to crop images (create crops) directly in Builder?
I’d be grateful for the response
Br,
Magda.
Hey @Magdalena, welcome to the Builder forum.
Builder.io provides comprehensive tools for handling images, including responsive resizing and optimization. However, Builder.io does not currently offer built-in tools for directly cropping images within its platform. As a result, if you need several crops of a given image, you would need to prepare them in an external application (such as Adobe Photoshop) and then upload each crop to the Asset Library in Builder.io to use them.
Workaround
Option 1: Custom Code Approach-
If you are familiar with coding, you might add custom code to manipulate images, but this would require additional development and testing to ensure all edge cases and scenarios are properly handled.
Option 2: Cloudinary Plugin-
The Builder.io Cloudinary plugin can also help you manage images more effectively, including cropping images directly within the platform. Cloudinary is a cloud-based service that provides comprehensive image and video management solutions, including manipulation and optimization.
For more information on working with images, refer to Builder.io’s documentation on image handling. If you have any other questions or require further assistance, please let me know!
