I archived the page template but now I need it to create new content. How do I remove it from the archive?
Hello @lucasmsoares96,
Welcome to the builder.io forum post.
To restore the archived builder content entries, you can follow the below steps
- Filter the content to show only archived items:
- Go to the content list in the Builder.io interface.
- Click the filter icon and set the property to
published
andis
archived
.
- Select and Unarchive the filtered archived content:
-
Once you have filtered the list to show only archived items, select the entries you want to restore.

Hello @lucasmsoares96,
Apologies, to restore the page model, you can follow the below steps.
-
Go to Models
-
Enable the “Show Archived” option
-
Open the page model that you want to restore and see if there is an option to unarchive is available for you
Hello @manish-sharma.
The option to unarchive does not appear.
Hello @lucasmsoares96,
Then, you might have to just use the Duplicate option. The inability to unarchive the default Page model in Builder.io appears to be by design to ensure content governance and management. While other models may be unarchived, the default Page model does not have this option to maintain content integrity and streamlined management.
Thanks,
@manish-sharma I’m unable to unarchive even the duplicate version.
Hello @lucasmsoares96,
I will bring this up with our internal team. In an ideal situation, duplicating an archive model should set the duplicated content state to unarchive. However, it seems that’s not happening.
In the meantime, I suggest creating a new page model to see if that resolves the issue for you.
Thank you,
Hello @lucasmsoares96,
I wanted to let you know that the default page model has been restored, and you should now be able to access the home page content.
I hope this resolves the issue.
Thank you for your cooperation!
