Templates not capturing sub elements

I have created a card that has a headline, image and description and grouped into a box. I then selected the box and created a template from it. I expect that i can then use that template to repeat the creation of that headline, image and description but when i drag that template onto a page I just get an empty box.

The url of the page I am building is here:

I have recorded a video of what I am doing to experience this issue here:

Hello @jhs129,

Unfortunately, we are not able to reproduce this issue on our end, or when using your space with the fallback editor. If your card is utilizing dynamic data then convert those layouts to a symbol instead of the template

Hi-
Thanks for the video. I did some additional testing myself and it seems like the way to reproduce the issue is to try and drag the template into a columns block. I recorded a video here showing how I reproduced the issue. Hopefully this helps.

Regards,
John

Hello @jhs129,

I was able to reproduce the issue, thank you so much for providing detailed steps and a video. I’ve raised a ticket with our product team to further investigate and deploy a fix. In the meantime, we recommend using the + Add block flow to add templates instead of drag-and-drop.

We truly appreciate all your feedback on our product.

Thanks,
