Content Ordering Matters, but you can accidentally sort by anything - NO AUDIT TRAIL?!

When pages have the same URL, the order matters in the Content page:

This is useful when re-designing or scheduling limited time content.

But today, I’ve found you can just click “Name” on this page and reorder all your content. That’s insane.

Now, I’ve just accidentally done that at work, where there are scores of articles, and there’s no way to “go back” to find out what should be “on top” and therefore “live”

Updated Date, Start and End will also reorder the content (therefore re-prioritize and change your live site).

Even if you were Filtered down or only looking at a Folder of Pages, guess what… it all got reordered.

This is incredibly disturbing and awful user interaction design. Who came up with this?
How do I fix or disable this “auto-prioritize by name”?

I heard from Alex in support this is a visual sorting only and doesn’t impact live content.
