Adding hero video or animated GIF?

What are you trying to accomplish
I’d like to add a video as a background, or insert an animated GIF. I’m apparently asking the wrong questions on the support docs on how to find an answer to this. It looks like GIF is not a supported image format to upload.

Hi @ADCC! You can upload a GIF as an image instead of a video. Select the layer that you want to add a background to then go to the Style tab, scroll down to the Background section, select Fill Image and upload your GIF there.

I’m trying to upload a GIF to an image block right now and I can’t even select a GIF file to upload to an image block.

Hi Wight,

You will have to go into your options and allow for all file types to upload a GIF, as seen in this image

We recommend using a video whenever possible, as GIF files are not good for performance.
