Designer role cannot edit Symbols

We have the following custom role called Designer in our Builder space.

The issue is that users with this role cannot edit Symbols.
Clicking a Symbol and pressing “Edit Symbol” in the sidebar in the Visual Designer redirects to a Access Denied page.

I would think with all the permissions enabled except the “Admin” permission would allow Symbols to be edited.

I left out the list of Models access in the screenshot, but i wouldn’t think that could cause it?

Anyone know a solution to this?

Thanks in advance!

Hey @panen , To get started, please provide your Public API Key. You can find instructions for finding it at this link.

Ah yes sorry.
Here it is 8fcbcbf3c44b44089ccece7695a18f93

Also by the way i noticed the built in Designer role can edit Symbols, its just when we use custom roles i dont know how exactly to allow editing of Symbols.

This is the message when trying to edit a Symbol.

Hey, @panen, I can see the Designer roles you created don’t have access to all the models. You would need to either provide them access to all the models or add the access to the symbol model as well.

Thank you!

Not sure about what Symbol model i could give access to since this is my workflow right now that doesnt work.

  1. Drag in a button in the Visual Designer.
  2. Right click it and Convert to Symbol.
  3. Click the Edit Symbol button and see the Access Denied message.

So i dont think i have any model associated with the Symbol.

Let me try and give access to All Models and see if it works.

Hey, @panen symbol is a data model, and it should be available in your data models.
Let me know how it works after providing access to all the models.

We somehow had the Symbol model archived, but i just unarchived it and can see the model association from all the Symbol instances now.
I also now see the Symbol model in the Roles & Permissions model access list now!

Thank you!
